The Mountain

The Mountain

by Monique Garcia / Thursday, 11 April 2013 / Published in Perspective

Once upon a time, there was a man and a lady who faced a horrid burden. Their lives had become strained and every day they shared a constant uphill battle of climbing up a huge mountain. The mountain was very overwhelming, it was far too high, and the journey was far too long. Even if they got to the top of the mountain, what was over the other side? The journey seemed too hard, life really seemed unfair for the couple. Why couldn’t they be like they used to be? They lived on level ground, and life was happy and easy. he couple couldn’t understand how their lives had changed so much all because of the mountain.

One day, the lady had had enough of spending her days looking up at the cold, hard mountain. Instead, she turned around and looked the other way.

She couldn’t believe what she saw. What a view from where she stood!!! She was up so very high. She suddenly realised how much better she could see everything from way up high on the mountain. Everything was clearer than from the ground and she realised just how LUCKY she was to be climbing her mountain. She ran to tell the man to turn around and look the other way, because she had learnt that they really could enjoy every day, and it was all thanks to their mountain.

From that day on, the man and the lady never worried what was over the mountain ever again, or how hard they would sometimes have to climb. They were far too busy looking the other way, and lived happily ever after looking in awe at their view!!!
